help required..while executing report in rsrt html in BI 7.4, and try to export to excel, the destination path is not shown,instead generates a bookmark and an invalid report..can you please give a fix to this..

Businessobjects 4.0 or 4.1 (New Install)
We have several projects being developed and the question I have is the business wants to develop on 4.0 and our Basis and Tech support wants to install 4.1. Ultimately in June we will upgrade to 4.1 which I believe requires substantial recoding of the reports that were developed in 4.0. I am having an extremely difficult time convincing them to start development on 4.1 from the start for obvious reasons. I think it would be much more painful developing these projects in 4.0 then having to migrate them to 4.1 later.
Can anyone give me some good solid reasons not to go with 4.0?

Performance problems on BI Platform after upgrading to Design Studio 1.3 SP01
Hi,
we upgraded our Design Studio Add-On from version 1.2 to 1.3 SP01 on our BI 4.1 Platform. (SP01 Patch 2)
After the installation we got performance issues in the BI Launch Pad when opening instances of WEBi reports for example.
Anyone with a problem like that ?

BOXI Server Migration approach
In our company we have already 1 tomacat appserver(SER1) and 1 CMS database(DB1). We have planned to have another app and CMS database in new servers(SER2 and DB2). Ser1 and DB1 will be down after some month.
Here is what I required
Ser1 -> DB1
Ser2 -> DB2
DB1 and DB2 data need to sync.
Both these servers will be pointing to same File repo server which is in share drive.
What is the best approach? do I need to create clustering?

Schedule to destinations
Hi all,
Environment:
BO XI 3.1 SP6
I try to make a publication based on one webi report. I choose my report, add the enterprise recipients, an Excel file as destination format and select the destination as email.
When we validate the screen we have the following error message :
Sorry, you do not have the right to 'Schedule to Destinations" (ID 62) for "name of the recipient". Please contact the administrator if you require this right.
Do you have any ideas ?
We have even tried to set the full access control on : connections, universes, applications (webi, infoview) and folders but we always have the same error.

Are there any (dis)advantages in building a universe on fully normalized tables instead of building dimensional model/tables and then universe on top of them?

I’m hoping someone can help me with understanding advantages and disadvantages if we want to build a universe on top of a fully normalized tables, compared to using a dimensional model with star schemas.
I’ve read some discussions here that say that it is possible to create a universe on top of normalized tables. Then, can we avoid building of dimensional tables (a data mart), and just use normalized tables? I would say that it is easier to use star schema dimensions and facts tables to build a universe, but our end users might ask “why do we have to go through building a dimensional data mart, if we can have same reports with hierarchies and drill-down functionality based on a universe built on top of our already existing normalized tables?”
Can you point me to some established best practices regarding using normalized tables to build a universe? Any documents with some examples for this?
Any expected difficulties during design/development phase of our universe, related to using normalized tables?
Any expected performance degradation if we use normalized tables compared to using dimensional tables?
Can I build universe more easily if I transform (modify) our normalized model (by using alias tables and views) to look like snowflake model?
I’m using BOE XI 3.1, tables are in Oracle 11.2.

Promotion of Object from Dev to QA
Hi,
A quick question,
I developed a universe and webi report.
While creating UNX universe in IDT I created secure connection .cns
Now I want to promote all my objects from dev to qa for testing.
Do I need to promote connection as well or does it get promoted automatically when I promote universe (unx file)
I see lot of connections there when I go to Promotion management .
Will appreciate your help,

Crystal Reports 2013 Failed to find an Available Report Application Server.
Hi Experts,
I am unable to Publish Crystal Reports 2013 to the BI 4.1 SP2 Enterprise.
I have installed SAP CR 2013 on my Laptop and also on our Citrix machine, from both systems I am getting the following error when try to publish:
Failed to find an Available Report Application Server.
All the ports and firewall are open, when doing some trace with Wireshark, its assigning some random ports starting with 64960.
On the same machine, i have installed Crystal Reports 2008, I could publish reports to Enterprise.
Could you please let me know what might be the issue.
Is Crystal Reports 2013 need any specific port to be assigned?

WebiPrompt problem: no data to fetch ("your parameter here": no given values)
I am new to SAP Business Objects and am having trouble running a report that has parameters. Specifically I am trying to execute a Web Intelligence Document that has WebiPrompts.
When I execute my program i get the following error:
no data to fetch ("pmTWIA": no given values)
In my code execution I can see that I am passing the xml with the prompts populated AND that when I look at the history for my Web Intelligence document that parameters have been passed.

How can identify webi modifications?
I Experts,
I need to identify webi creations and modifications from a specific date, the modifications must be from the user side.
The query that I'm using is that one:
SELECT * FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND='webi' and SI_INSTANCE_OBJECT = 0 and SI_UPDATE_TS BETWEEN '2014.08.01' AND '2014.09.02'
I saw when there is a publication from a webi and you make some changes on the parameter of the input controls, the modify date from the webi document changes. That’s modifications are not interesting to me, what is interesting for me is changes related to the own webi document like change variables, graphics any changes unless prompts parameters.
Is any way to list all web Intelligence with that changes without consider modifications from a publication?

Error on SAP BI Platform SP03 then I will create a new webi report

I install BI Plateform SP03 and the patches 1,2 and 3 .
My java version is : Java 7 update 67 and I don't have old version in cache.
When I want to do a report with webi after choose Univers and execute requete , I have this message :
"Unexpectified error invoking method or accessing property "OnChangeDocID""

Crystal Server 2013 SP4 update 1 - Processor Affinity
I'm trying Crystal Server 2013 SP4 update 1 for our customer, i've installed it on Windows Server 2008 R2.
The machine (virtual, on vmware esx) have 4 processors, but when crystalras is working seems use only one processor (the cpu don't go never up 25%).
Looking in registry i've found these 4 nodes:
- hklm:\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Report Application Server\InProcServer
- hklm:\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Report Application Server\Server
- hklm:\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Report Application Server\InProcServer
- hklm:\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Report Application Server\Server
that contains a key named ProcessAffinityMask with value -1 and i think that these keys are related with crystalras.exe
How i can tell to CrystalRas.exe to use all 4 processor?
Is the ProcessAffinityMask key the right key to tell crystalras to use all processors?
What is the value that i can set on ProcessAffinityMask key?

Webi Report on SAP BW/BI

We are on SAP BO BI 3.1 and I am required to create Webi Report on our SAP BW/BI system with BEx Query and InfoCube as source.

Unable to log on to BO Enterprise
Hello,
I'm trying to publish some reports to the Intelligence platform. When I enter the credentials that I believe are correct, I get a message that says "Unable to log on; Could not connect to server". Can someone help? I'm not sure what I'm supposed to enter for System, User name, and password.

Trouble with BI4.1 & Tomcat cluster
I'm attempting to set up a Tomcat cluster on Windows. It is mostly working, but I'm struggling with failover.
I'm using the 64-bit versions of:
- Apache 2.4
- JRE 7
- Tomcat 7.0.23
I set up Apache using this guide, and configured Tomcat clustering using info from here and here. I used wdeploy to split the static and dynamic content between Apache and Tomcat, then copied the Tomcat directory and made the required port changes.
I added the <distributable/> tag to BOE/WEB-INF/web.xml
Load Balancing is working perfectly. When I go to http://server/BOE/BI, the connection is assigned to one of the two Tomcats.
Using Tomcat manager, I can see that the sessions are properly replicated. So when the connection is assigned to TomcatB, the manager on TomcatC will show the session as a Backup.
When one Tomcat is killed, I know that the survivor is aware of it. I see this is the log:

However, BI Launchpad isn't handling it so well. If I log in to http://server/BOE/BI while both Tomcats are up, then kill the Tomcat that the connection was assigned to, the next action in Launchpad produces an HTTP 500. These are the first few lines of the exception:

I wrote a very simple page that just prints out current session info. This page does fail over properly.
I found an SAP Note that is similar to my problem, although not identical. I don't believe it is the same problem, since there are no firewall rules on my server that would be interfering, all of the traffic is local, and it is working with my test page.
Has anyone been successful with failover using a similar configuration as mine?

Alert on a chart in BO4.0
Hi All,
I have a requirement in which I have to show 1 dimension(Region) and 2 measures(Target Sales and Actual Sales) in a chart.
However, I need to put an alert on Actual Sales such that -
1) If actual sales is greater than target sales, then Actual Sales need to have a green bar.
2) If actual sales is less than target sales, then Actual Sales need to have a red bar.
3) The target sales can have any fixed color bar for eg. Blue.
I want to understand can we put an alert on a chart? Also, I wish to show both target and actual sales with alert only on actual sales. Is there any workaround to achieve this.

do we need to run any program or settings before loading 0hr_pa_pd_1 datasource
Hi Experts,
I am able to load the data in BW dev system for 0PAPD_C01 through the data source 0HR_PA_PD_1 ,But I am unable to load the data in Qual BW.
I have data in RSA3 In Qual Ecc,Idocs,trfc,authorization everything fine.
but when I trigger the infopackage it is showing no data available ,selection ended.there is no routine or filtere in infopackage.
I have delete the req in psa and did the load again but same issue.
Datasource is full load no delta capable.
I have maintain the authorization p_plan_all in BW for this datasource.
please provide the solution.

QAAWS Error
Hi Experts,
I have SAP BO BI 4.1 SP3 edge edition and I have installed SAP BO BI Client tool 4.1 SP3 as well .
I want to create a WEB Service using QAAWS tool with "administrator" user only .I am getting the follwoing error while selecting default Efashon universe .
" GetDataSource Exception (Error WQR 99999)".
I searched alot and found some discussion but nowhere I found the remady for this issue.
FYI I read "SAP Note no. 1947088 (GetDataSource exception (Error: WQR 99999) in 4.1)".
Any Help on this please.....

I have worked extensively on the development modules such as webi, deski IDT, UDT,Xcelisus, explorer Lumira but havnt worked much on the administration side.
