Sometimes Crystal RAS is not responding and unable to restart from CCM. When this goes not responding, we have to kill it form task manager to restart. Do you know how to troubleshoot this?

crystal compatiblility with bi4.1

We are on BO 3.1 using crystal 2011. when we migrate to BI4.1 do we need to install crystal 2013 client? Can I have crystal 2011 and Crystal 2013 client installed on same client machine?

How to remove Home tab in BI Launch Pad
Hi Experts,
When i login to BI Launch Pad, by default i will land in Home page and also there will be Document tab next to home page.
I want to remove both Home and Document tab and add new custom tabs.
Please let me know how can i achieve my requirement.

Connect BO to ABAP Function
Hi Experts,
I'm trying to build a report out of the standard ABAP Function BAPI_AR_ACC_GETOPENITEMS (Function Group: 3007)
I'm able to create the connection on Information Design Tool, and I'm able to add the table to the Data Foundation
When I run the BAPI in SAP Logon, I'm only asked to fill 3 fields (company code, customer and date)
But when I try to make a query on IDT from the selected table (BAPI_AR_ACC_GETOPENITEMS.-EXPORT_CH_LINEITEMS) I'm asked to fill dozens of columns. And almost all of them are mandatory
I was told that this ABAP Function is somehow connected to a structure (sorry, I dont have a lot of experience in SAP ERP), and all those columns belong to that structure.
My question is, if I want to get some data from this ABAP function on IDT, do I have to fill all those mandatory import columns?
Is there a way to do that without filling all of that? I can't understand why if I go througt SE38 in SAP ERP I just have to fill 3 fields, and on IDT I have to fill dozens of mandatory columns.

Windows AD authentication impacting HANA database credentials
Hello,
I've recently setup Windows AD authentication in BI 4.1 SP5, and users are reporting that after they login using AD authentication, their database connection does not work.
Here's a breakdown of the steps they follow and how they get the connection to work by switching to Enterprise authentication. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there an SAP note that addresses this issue?
1. Log on to BOE with AD (all lower case)
2. Open report (HANA Connection is not working):
3. Log in with Enterprise
4. Open Report (HANA connection not working)
5. Check CMC (Database credentials look good)
6. Enter password again for HANA Credentials
7. Log in to BOE Again with Enterprise
8. Open Report (HANA Credentials are working)
9. Log in to BOE Again with AD (all Lower Case)
10. Open Report (HANA Credentials are not working)

Crystal export to CSV with delimiters not working for Currency and Time fields!
Hi,
We have a Crystal report and trying to export it to CSV with pipe(|) delimiter in BI Launch pad, but it's only working for string and number fields. Currency and DateTime fields are exported without any delimiters.
I have attached an example you can see first two fields(number,string)) are good, but from third one(Currency,Currency, Currency, DateTime, Currency) there is no delimiter

We are moving from BI4.0 to 4.1. I have been asked by my client to come up with some options to reduce/ minimize the time for content migration using Promotion Management. What are some of the ways to go about it. Your feedbacks and experiences would be helpful.

Upgrading large 3.1 system to 4.1
We have a large 3.1 production environment. In our POC run, UMT ran for 48 hours to migrate to 4.1.
After upgrading from 3.1 Prod to 4.1 Dev using UMT and after validation should we use LCM to migrate from dev to QA 4.1 and Prod 4.1?
Would LCM be able to migrate all the contents (1000s of objects) successfully in one go or do we need to use UMT
to move 3.1 Prod to QA 4.1 and Prod 4.1?
Using the UMT, the issue is if after upgrading from 3.1 prod to 4.1 dev, any changes/fixes we make to any objects due to breakage in 4.1
we would have to manually make the same changes again if we go from 3.1 Prod to 4.1 QA (and later to Prod 4.1) using UMT.
Using LCM, we can migrate all the changes/fixes we make in dev 4.1 to QA and Prod.

Windows AD for BI4.1
Hi ,
We are upgrading from BO3.1 to BI4.1. We are running into issues when trying to configure Windows-AD integration . Here are the steps we followed-
1. Restarted the SIA on new BI4.1 box with 3.1 service account-Success
2. Updated Windows-AD configuration in CMC (selections, group name, SPN same as 3.1)
3. Copied krb5.ini and bsclogin.conf from 3.1 to BI4, box and updated the location in tomcat config.
5. restarted the server.
I am getting windows AD authentication error.Any pointers?

Urgent - Error while triggering workflow using java api
We are getting below error while triggering workflow using java api. Where as same workflow is executing successfully if we launch from SAP MDM Data Manager.
ERROR => com.sap.mdm.commands.CommandException: Illegal value for parameter (0x80000001)
We are using MDM 7.1 SP12
Note: when we were using MDM 7.1 sp04 we did not face this issue.

getting IUser objects in JSON format
hi,
in my application, i get IUser or IInfoObjects by query. after that i need to convert them JSON format to store them in MongoDB but i always get mapping and stackoverflow error. is there any way to convert them to JSON or getting them directly in JSON format?
my application should work for both BO 3.x and 4.x versions...

SMTP Setting on Distributed Enviornment.
I am getting error not able to send the email out with attachment in the distributed sever. We have 2 servers running on 4.1 SP 5.
Same setting works on a stand alone on sand box. Server is registered on the MS Exchange server. Setting are done on both Job servers in the distributed environment. Telnet is able to send email from the server.

i have checked the mail box it's active and working.

Doing a reposcan on a FRS which is on a remote server
Hi All,
Could someone let me know how I can run a run a reposcan on the FRS(Both input and output) which resides in a separate server?
I can connect to the FRS as a shared drive and view the contents but cannot run the reposcan.

but how to locate in my folder, it will only give me cr's based on name of report.

Design studio document just keep Clocking when we open in LaunchPad
Hi,
We have a BI4.1 SP5 on 'X' Server where we have Design Studio Add-on installed and have Tomcat Server also installed. When we login in to BILaunchPad using the Tomcat server which we installed on 'X' server and open the Design studio Documents it open up fine with No issues.
We wanted to have all the Webapps to be Installed on a separate server for better performance so we installed Tomcat on 'Y' server and deployed all the Webapps now when we login in to BILaunchPad using the Tomacat server which we installed on 'Y' and try to open the Design Studio documents it just Clocks and never opens up Nor doesn't throw any error. It just Clocks up all along.
We have checked the Tomcat Configuration on 'X' and 'Y' and both look same and I don't know what is causing the issue. So experts please need guidance on what needs to checked in order to make design studio documents working when we login in to LaunchPad using 'Y' server.

BI4.1 migration (crystal reports error)
Hi,
We have migrated from 3.1 to 4.1 and all the crystal reports from 3.1 showing up as crystal report 2013 are failing with error Failed to load database information -Error code CRWEB00000119. Do the DB passwords not get copied over when migrated to Bi4.1 ? Do I need to update the connection password for all the reports?

Index awareness Prompt Issue (Working in IDT, but not in WEBI)
I have experienced an issue on "Index Awareness Prompt"
The "Index Awareness Prompt" is working in IDT query panel, I can see the "description" valus has been replaced by key value, so far so good; but when publish to repository and use rich client to create report, the key value just did not pass in.
The prompt and List are created at data foundation layer, (I have tried to create on bussiness layer, same issue)m which is fully followied SAP DocCreate an Index Awareness Prompt , so why it worked in IDT query panel, but not worked in webi? Is that a bug?
(both IDT and Rich Client are on BO 4.1 support pack 4)

How to list all the folders in BO 4.1 using java SDK ?
Hi,
I have to list all the folders of Universes and Reports in the repository. I have found that all the reports in BO will store under Report folder 23 and Universes will store under Root folder 95. I don't know how to loop through all the folders. Can anyone help me to achieve this. Thanks in Advance !!

Size of IFRS > OFRS
Hi Experts,
Our current environment is on XI 3.1 Sp3 Fp 3.6 with a 2 node cluster environment and FileStore is on a shared drive. When I logged into the server I observed that out of 750 GB HDD, 450 GB is occupied by IFRS and 50GB by OFRS.
Now as per my understanding all the instances should be stored in OFRS, while IFRS only contains the report template/structure
I have checked the IFRS and OFRS properties in CMC running on both the nodes and they are correctly pointing to the shared drive locations.
Could you please let me know why such issue is observed and what could be the solution to it as we are also planning to migrate to BI 4.1 SP5.
