i am new in BW and I need to create a Time Based Hierarchy i.e. year>quarter>month>week and need to use it in Bex designer and then need to create a Drill Down webi report using it.
i have objects in BW(7.3). i had created an InfoObject using these Objects in Hierarchy PFA. But that object is not visible in Query Designer.
please help guys. its very urgent.

I am looking to schedule Web Intelligence Reports and I have found that the Job Server should not be split (SAP BI 4.1).
I am trying to find out information on how many jobs i can run in parallel. Should I just base it on the sizing carried out - base it on the active concurrent users?

We are trying to figure out what changed to stop our ability to access Infoview from IE (have tried multiple versions).
We are able to access Infoview using Mozilla without any problem.
IE gives us a Windows Security window, asking for user ID and password - but after entered, says credentials are invalid (401).
Have tried with multiple users.
Appreciate any thoughts on what to check.

We are on SAP Business Objects(BO) BI 4.1 (SP4)
We have created user & groups and maintained user security at individual folder level in CMC.
Is there a way to export user security folder wise in BO in a file?

we have SAP BI 4.1 SP4, we have been asked to upgrade the tomcat due to vulnerability issue, I would like to know the following.
1) Is it safe to upgrade tomcat to the latest in SAP BI 4.1 manually?
2) Has anyone done this?
3) Does it need a Java, JVM/JDK upgrade along with tomcat upgrade.
4) Can some tell me the steps to do it.
(Currently we have Tomcat - 7.0.32. This is installed as part of the SP 4.1 SP4 bundle.).

Hello,
I have a need to retrieve the labels and corresponding values for items represented on a report.
The best I can get using REST is to get /documents/<docid>/reports/<reportid>/specification .
This returns the layout of the report which contains all the values in <content> tags and some of the labels and others as table elements etc.
However, I have not found a way to retrieve them and link a label to its corresponding value.
Is there any corresponding java SDK that allows to retrieve this data that REST may not allow? Are these relationships stored anywhere other than the layout?
We are in process of getting license to to upgrade SAP BOXI 3.X to SAP BODS 4.2. We do not have any major plans to utilize wide range components in 4.2 like IS data quality etc.,. we just want to utilize same functionalities in 4.2 which are available in 3.1.
In process of obtaining new 4.2 license we need to a full system scan report showing that we are within the compliance of existing license.
Is there a self-auditing tool that is baked into DI system that we can run to show SAP we are staying in compliance with the licenses we have?
Appreciated if any one can response on this ASAP.

Hi All,
I recently setup CTS+ for our BOE systems. I created a couple of test jobs and promoted them via CTS. When I move the transport to QA, all the objects are being moved correctly and the transport log shows complete. However, moving to Prod, the objects are not being moved yet the transport says that it is deployed correctly. Has someone encountered this before? If yes, can you please let me know how to fix it or where to check as I can't find anything as of the moment related to this.

When I search for a document in Public folder, it also displays me the report under user personal folders as well.
Is there a way to restrict the search of documents in Public Folder only.
It doesnt mean that the user should not be able to search reports in their personal folder, but only the list should not display the report names from other users personal folder/inboxes.

Hi,
We have one parameter in our reports whose value is passed from the portal. As a result the parameter is not displayed.
But when the user clicks on the refresh icon the parameter is displayed and asks for value.
How can we deny the users the right to refresh a report so that he cannot see the parameter.
Can anyone provide a solution for the same?

Hi,
We are just about to go live with a daily scheduled job for refreshing and emailing an Analysis workbook. Everything is set up and works fine. My only issue is that I can't seem to find a way to view any settings I have made for that job.
Is there a way to view details of the scheduled job and amend if necessary? It is likely that the email distibution list would change and I can't see any way of editiing the job or even seeing what the settings are.

How can i check the list of published reports and profiles in 4.1?

I am using publications in SAP BI 4 which connects to SAP BW. I am using row level security so have set the publication to run for each user. When I run the publication as I can see i does connect to SAP BW with multiple users in parallel during the publication.
is there a way to control the number of parallel users it uses?

I've seen several topics here, one being pretty much the same as my issue, but I didn't see anything to do to make a correction here.
We have AD set up on a test machine, and it's working fine. But in moving to the Production machine, the initial testing failed, specifically the kinit command.
My prod service name is business.objects.app. I can run kinit from the test machine and it's good . . .
But when I run kinit from the Prod machine (recently configured), it doesn't work:

We have a requirement where we need to track the list of prompts and their current values set for all Public folder reports. Could you please let me know if anybody had implemented this earlier?
We need to track them down as report name, path and Prompt values/Parameters etc in an excel or CSV.

Can someone please share any URL from where the Crystal Reports for Java - JRC can be downloaded. The Runtime libraries as mentioned in the link SAP Crystal Reports, version for Eclipse - Downloads says that the file size to be downloaded is ~46 MB (http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/crystalreportsforeclipse/2_0/crjava-runtime_12.2.217.zip ), but after ~14.8 MB - the download stops (have tried numeroud times and evertime it stops at the same state) and the zip file is a corrupt one.
I have tried opening the partially downloaded file with 7-Zip file manager and can confirm that the file was downloaded partially.

we have a publication, which runs every Friday and for the last 2 weeks. the publications are still in Running status.
if we do a manual run, then its running fine.
so what could be the possible reason.
Do we have to Restart APS and Webi processing services .or Further to evaluate the problem, is there any Server Sizing problem?
