Hi Team,
We are using BI 4.0 SP10 with SAP source systems - One of the Admin team have migrated the report from QA to Prod through promotion management, but in that process the other reports are deleted automatically in the same folder except the migrated one.
Audit reports can show only the particular user, deleted reports in particular time.
Is there any chance to know, why did just one report remain and other reports get deleted automatically?

I am going to upgrade BI 4.1 platform from SP4 patch 11 to SP7 patch 3.
CMS repository is hosted on a separate MySQL 5.1.50 DBMS and, according to official “BI 4.1 SP7 PAM” I must upgrade MySQL to release 5.6
The question is: which is the correct upgrade sequence ?
First of all MySQL from 5.1 to 5.6 then BO, or first BO 4.1 from SP4 to SP7 then MySQL ?
Does BO 4.1 SP7 support MySQL 5.1.50 ?
Does BO4.1 SP4 support MySQL 5.6 ?
(unfortunately I haven’t BO 4.1 SP4 PAM)
p.s. every host is on Red Hat 6.6 sysop.

I have a question, configuration OSS1 is sufficient to be able to download SAP notes or do we have to do something else?
I mean, do we have to register our connection/SAProuter IP address at SAPNET? (see note 28976 - Remote connection data sheet)
What about configuration at SAPNET level? Do we have to do something? SAP has to allow us to connect to their SAPROUTER?
Is the configuration at SAPNET level mandatory?
Actually, we would like only to use SNOTE transaction nothing else. We get this error when we start implementing a Note:
We configured our SAPROUTER, firewall ports are configured and internal connection is working.
For the "SAP Router at SAP" field (Transaction OSS1), which one has to be used?

I had installed SAP Design Studio 1.6 and I'm trying to connect to a universe in SAP BO 4.2 Platform
I change in Preferences > Preferred Startup Mode SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform but if I'm going Add Data Source and browse I cannot see any connection from BO 4.2
Do I need to do anything in BO 4.2 Platform in a way to have connections available in Design Studio?

Hi guys,
Is there any way to validate universes by comparing it's properties in version 6.5 vs new 4.2?
I tried to export the properties to PDF format but some words are cut and go into a new line, so it's hard to compare the properties.
When you do this kind of migrations how do you validate that everything's ok? (conditions, objects, contexts, structure, etc)

I have searched all over the web in all the ways I can think of, I have searched on this site for "Programs that can write to SQL server" and just write sql server and "write sql database" and I still cannot find if SAP has a program I can use to write to SQL databases and make it available through Crystal Reports Server/Bi Launch pad.
I am a DBA and know how to use Crystal Reports to pull data and I even can use SAP Dashboard developer to pull data in all kinds of great ways. I am in need of being able to make a input page for my customer to be able to input and update customer information.

Company has decided to move entire BOE BI4.1 platform to cloud and I am assigned with task to create test cases for testing the BOE platform once we move to cloud. Can someone give me an idea of what all areas should be considered or kept in scope while designing test cases. Our BOE connects to both SQL as well as BW backend. Apart from this, rest all is same standard BOE implementation. Reports, universes, connections, Publications\Schedules, users\groups and also mobile BI server.
additionally, BW will be moved to HANA platform and we need to keep that also into consideration and have few test cases for BO reports with BW backend. And We are using following tools to fulfill reports\dashboard requirements.

I have two different cases for Deleted objects. One case is when object is physically deleted. Another case is when the object is marked with Deletion flag (System status).
Now I would like to understand if standard extractions are handling both cases properly?
Also does BI uses a same key field as the ECC does? For example my Network activity code can be 40234567 0010 and that I can rename into 40234567 0015. Will BI recognise it as the same object or as a different object?

When I try to change a BEx query (change source) I have notice this behaviour:

We faced some high memory usage spikes lately on our webintelligence processing servers.
We want to find the cause for this:
Which user or which report is behind the memory consumption?
Are there any tools or monitorings answering this?
Or do I have to analyze the corresponding logfiles for "errors" ? - Maybe there is no error behind the high memory consumption at all?

During Installation, we decided to use the SVN shipped with BO and run it locally on the BO Server.
Now, we have changed our mind and would like to use a central SVN Installation and connect to it via HTTPS. We changed the Parameters correspondingly in the CMC and restarted SIA, but it seems of no interest to our BO System. It still uses the "old" local SVN.
I have read somewhere to change the Registry key, but I wouldn't know how to do it, since I have to move from a local Service to a remote one.
Can anybody advise?

Beside CMS/Audit db and I/O FRS backups, what are the files and locations needed to backup (web.xml, server.xml, etc) in a clustered and distributed environment, we have 2 CMS servers, 3 processing servers and 3 webservers? Anything with the load balancer or something that we need to backup?

I am making a post on behalf of our customer Mendy Shugart from Burlesons-Honey who is having issues with Crystal Server 2013 and getting the following error... [RCIRAS0542]
Mendy tried following the instructions from the service marketplace here: (Note: I got this information for her as she is trying her free trial at the moment and hasn't purchased the product or maintenance for it)
1.Log on to the Central Management Console as Administrator
2.Go to the Servers area and open the Crystal Report Processing Server
3.Set the Maximum Concurrent Jobs to a higher value ie.100
4.Restart the Crystal Report Processing Server
5.Reset the Maximum Concurrent Jobs value to 0
6.Restart the Crystal Report Processing Server
However, these instructions don't look like the ones in her attached picture that she has:
How do we proceed from here?

Is there SDK available for Explorer SDK in BI 4.0 and above?

I'm try to setup a data source in Design Studio connecting through a .unx universe
If a using in Information Design Tool and tested in query panel and works ok
When I'm in Design studio, I can see the universe but when I edit the query Specification I'm getting this error
"Query script generation failed. See you BusinessObject administrator. Fatal Error (IES 00013)"
Any suggestions how to fix this?

Environment : BI 4.1 SP6 Patch2
OS : Windows 2012 R2
In our environment , we often see connection related issues either database issues / BOBJ connection drivers issues.
We are using 12 different databases for reporting (SQL server , Oracle and SAP BW ) in BOBJ .we created a WebI report to test whether all connections are working (refresh manually / schedule ) .
If there is any issue , we'll further refresh all connections one by one to find which connection has issue .
Can we automate the process of connection testing? ( not using report)
Idea here is , we need a batch file / .exe file which will execute on periodic basis to test a list of specified connections and captures Test connection description message either success message or failure message description for each specified connection .
which then should be sent BOBJ admins to take immediate action .
Origin of this idea is How to Test All Connection using BusinessObjects SDK
Can we write SDK to achieve this requirement ?

For your knowledge Client Internet Browser is IE11 on a Citrix farm
I checked in the PAM document and IE 11 is compatible but at the moment is deployed with Java 32-bit
Has anyone know if IE11 is better with Java 32-bit or 64-bit?
I just need to make case to my IT department to have IE packaged with Java 64-bit
