Is SAP Data Intregator is this the same as SAP Data Services, because i tried to generate a key for SAP Data Integrater 4.2, which was fine, but when i tried to install SAP Data Service 4.2 to go with the SAP Data Intregrator 4.2 key it just said it was invalid.
Or am i getting this all wrong, and SAP Data Integreator is a totally different product?
I even tried the trials keys from the latest PDF provided from SAP and all those were invalid too. Am i doing something wrong?
I am updating the from address and everything seems to work but when the scheduled reports go out the replies are coming from the old address. I have 130 scheduled reports, is there a way to do a refresh of all the reports so the correct "from" address works?
I am receiving the following Windows server event viewer SAP JVM Error. ERROR (:0): Java assert: Assertion in com.businessobjects.foundation.logging.log4j.Log4jLogger.assertTrue(Log4jLogger.java:52) Is anyone seeing this same message in event viewer?
Orginial message - - EventData : [11712] 11:05:44 ***ERROR (:0): Java assert: Assertion in com.businessobjects.foundation.logging.log4j.Log4jLogger.assertTrue(Log4jLogger.java:52) Also, on Windows Server 2012, BO 4.1 SP6, Tomcat 7. Hello All,
I just purchased the SAP BI Edge solution, but I haven't install it yet.. I was going through the installation manual, and it said the with full installation the Tomcat 8 will automatically get installed and configured... so my question is:
While Tomcat is going to be installed, then what should be my Windows Server role? (if I make my server role as "Web Server IIS" would that cause any issue to the BI Platform 4.2)?

We have a critical situation, the BOBJ installation drive is running out of space....
in this folder D:\BOE\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86 (.trc files are occupying 67.8 GB)
in this folder D:\BOE\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win64_x64 (.trc files are occupying 178 GB)
Why are these files getting generated ...?
The Tracelog of the servers on CMC are "Unspecified"
can we delete these files to free up the space ???

In the new BI4.2 UMT tool, there are 2 very useful options for doing a smart migration between BI platform environments:
1. Ability to select only recurring instances only, thus minimizing the amount of content migrating, without loosing functionality.
2. Ability to select "delta" content. This enables you to do close the gap between full content migration done when you start the migration project and the go-live date. No need to freeze production while you still test and fine tune your next generation BI.
Since UMT is no longer available for moving content between 2 BI4.x environments, no even from BI4.1 to BI4.2, what other ways are recommended to achieve the above functionality?

I presume that the Crystal Server and SharePoint integration require something to be installed on the SharePoint sever and for this reason it will not be possible to integrate with the SharePoint server that is provided as part of the online MS Office365 set up.
Is this correct?

After upgrading to SAP BO 4.1 SP07 webi reports are refreshing on open even when parameter is set to "OFF". Even more, view latest instance report does also refresh on open.
SAP Support advised to upgrade to Patch 3 (latest pathc available ), However, same issue still occur while viewing latest instances.
Does anyone experience same behavior?

As the title, I have designed a RPT with the JDBC connection. Then the RPT will run on the customer's Environment ， that should connect to customer's DB. And they want to do this thing in the Java background. So how to update the dataSource in a new JDBC connection . If you known ,please advice me. Thank you so much.

There is a machine which is monitored throughout the day whose name is captured in dim [machine] at 1hr intervals for a month in dim [date time] and the monitored value goes in dim [measure] which is a measure.
Now, I only want to show the average of the min values(say avg of 30 values one for each day); in one line against the [machine] dim without taking the [date time] dim in the block.
Can someone suggest a way to achieve this? since, taking the below formula against [machine] is giving the min value from the entire month and not aggregating anything.
=Average (Min([measure])) ForAll ([Formated date])
where [Formated date]=ToDate(FormatDate([date time];"dd-Mmm-yyyy");"dd-Mmm-yyyy")
<since this would select min value from each day out of the 24 values one for each hour> but this works only when I drag the formatted date in the block.
Can anyone please let me know what am I missing here ? Thanks.
PS : I am trying this in SAP BO3.1 SP3

Could someone please provide the complete list of jar files that must be packaged with a web application that's using
the SDK for Crystal Server 2013 SP7 ?
I've gone through the SDK Developers docs and some of the jar files that are listed do not exist in the Crystal Server deployment
or the Crystal Server Client Tools.
I've included all the mentioned jar files in the SDK developers guide for BO 4.0 and a few others but am still having issues with
connecting to the CMS server. In particular I'm receiving this Exception when I try to logon:
Exception in thread "Thread-72" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/rsa/jsafe/JSAFE_InvalidUseException

Initial issue:
SIA fails to start after patching BI 4.2 SP02 to Patch Level 01.
Suggestion from support was to repair the install of BI 4.2 SP02.
After successfully repairing, I rebooted the server.
Now, the SAPHostExec service fails to start.
The errors found in the Event Viewer:
The SAPHostControl service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not start due to a logon failure.
The SAPHostControl service was unable to log on as .\sapadm with the currently configured password due to the following error:
Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.
Service: SAPHostControl
Domain and account: .\sapadm
This service account does not have the required user right "Log on as a service."
User Action
Assign "Log on as a service" to the service account on this computer. You can use Local Security Settings (Secpol.msc) to do this. If this computer is a node in a cluster, check that this user right is assigned to the Cluster service account on all nodes in the cluster.
If you have already assigned this user right to the service account, and the user right appears to be removed, check with your domain administrator to find out if a Group Policy object associated with this node might be removing the right.
Has anyone had issues doing the above? When I have a subreport as part of my final report, The data from the subreport is not exporting into the same .csv.

I've been working on new boxes for our 4.2 environment. We chose to go with a new install instead of upgrade in place because:
a) we are growing, and our landscape needs to support the growth, and
b) we are also upgrading to Win Server 2012 R2 from Win Server 2008 at the same time.
We are planning on a clustered 3 tier landscape:
1. Web (Application) Tier
2. CMS (Management) Tier
3. Processing Tier
The web tier will be in the DMZ as this will be a public facing application, with the other two tiers inside the LAN.
Other high level requirements:
-We will be using Design Studio
-We will be using Dashboards
-We will be using Crystal and WebI (but 90% WebI)
-We will be using SQL Server for the CMS Repo, not the SQL Anywhere system
-We would like to use Live Office, so I believe RESTful Web Services will need to be accessed via the public URL.
When I start the install for 4.2, one of the first screens asks you which feature you want to install on the tier (Feature Selection Screen).
I'm looking for advice/best practice for which feature should be installed on which tier to best utilize the resources:

I'm also referencing How to install Design studio add-on in a Distributed Landscape which advises which component to install on which tier, but the information in this post seems to conflict with the information in how-to-install-design-studio-add-on-in-a-distributed-landscape
I'm also referencing the 4.2 SP02 admin guide section 3.1.2 Architecture tiers, (page 36) that talks about the tiers and what the tier should be responsible for. Unfortunately, the tier descriptions do not do a good job mapping back to the features that are listed during the install.
Web tier
The web tier contains web applications deployed to a Java web application server. Web applications provide BI platform functionality to end users through a web browser. Examples of web applications include the Central Management Console (CMC) administrative web interface and BI launch pad. The web tier also contains Web Services. Web Services provides BI platform functionality to software tools via the web application server, such as session authentication, user privilege management, scheduling, search, administration, reporting, and query management. For example, Live Office is a product that uses Web Services to integrate BI platform reporting into some Microsoft Office products.
Management Tier
The management tier (also known as intelligence tier) coordinates and controls all of the components that make up the BI platform. It comprises the Central Management Server (CMS) and the Event Server and associated services. The CMS maintains security and configuration information, directs service requests to servers, manages auditing, and maintains the CMS system database. The Event Server manages file-based events, which occur in a defined storage tier.
Processing tier
The processing tier analyzes data, and produces reports and other output types. This is the only tier that accesses the databases that contain report data. This tier comprises the Adaptive Job Server, Connection Server (32- and 64-bit), and processing servers such as the Adaptive Processing Server or Crystal Reports Processing Server.
I believe I have most of the features mapped to the correct tier in our distributed landscape, but I would like feedback from others who have successfully implemented this type of distribution, with our similar requirements (Live Office, RESTful Web Services, Design Studio, Public URL, Web Tier in DMZ and firewalled from other tiers, etc).

I have one strange problem, that I will open CR report which saved in BO platform in Crystal Report for Enterprise 4.1 client tool, report which uses BICS connection, report will open successfully (shows report structure also) but after the open when I click page (refresh), login session is disconnected and page shows black page and it asked for the login again...Even if I given credentials still the same problem, Even for the new report creation also face same problem..
Seems to problem here is with data connectivity during session is disconnecting, Will be the issue related to DSL bridge service, or Crystal Report processing server, Any idea?

we have one issue that, user belongs to Germany region for them one Webi report keep refreshing in BI launchpad, Generally report should refresh in 7 minutes, for same input parameters It works good for APAC region user, but again issue for Germany region user is specific to amount of data, for some parameter it works for them (less data), for more data report keep running
We increased the connection parameter, but still have same problem.
we have recreated the report and converted UNX universe still have the same problem
database is SQL server
we are using BO4.1 SP4
Is it seems to network problem related any firewall., which option should we need check?
