i will be taking backup of my frs and cms db before i start.
i have read SAP docs on this subject but
what is some practical advice from those who have gone thru it?
how long does the upgrade take on a machine?

I migrated from XI3.1 to BI4.1 SP06 a few weeks ago and my users seem to have issues when exporting documents. They don't get the
data shown on the report when they give the command export document (or report) tot PDF, Excel....
They get the data of a previous query or even the data of another user that they aren't even allowed to see.
To be clear the reports in BI gives the correct data. Only when exporting them the data isn't correct.
I need some assistance. Can somebody please help me solve this issue? Does this have anything to do with a bug maybe or is there something else?

Hello to everyone
i got a problem with one report which should be sent through automation. If i refresh the report on my client or in the web with the BI Plattform it takes some time (about 90 seconds) but then the results are shown to me.
Now its about to make some automation into the report to send the results with mail. If i set this up i get no failure message but the report is in progress for more then 60 minutes without a result.
It is the only report for automation which causes that problem. I got reports running with run times about 10 Minutes and more and there is no problem.
Do you have an idea what could be the problem with the one?

Using SUM tool, we're performing System Upgrade to our NW 750 running with HANA DB. But, we're struck with the ACTIVATION CHECK error in SUM Phase PREP_GENCHECKS/RUN_RSUPGRCHECK_PRE. (For more information, refer error screenshot SUM_Error in attachment).
Error seems to be related to activation of Infoobjects. Manually I activated the infoobject 0TXTXL via rsd1 transaction. But, I get the same issue during the SUM phase.
Any ideas are appreciated?

Hi Team, I have installed client version of BI 4.1 SP06 FP03 version in my desktop. I am not able to convert the deski reports using 4.1 RCT tool installed in the desktop. I am able to login into RCT by providing Source and target server names and select the deski report also. When I click on the convert tab, it will show converting displayed in the new pop up in left most corner. But the name of the report and the conversion status is not displayed. This window will remain as is and there is no progress further. The reports are not converted. If I click on cancel option it will go to the next pages and shows the result of conversion i.e., not converted for all reports :-( Can you please help me in resolving this issue. I have upgraded BO to 4.1SP5 from 3.1 for a client.
We have 2 windows servers clustered and a Load balancer on top of them.
Tomcat is installed on both the servers where BO services are installed.
The client has around 15 Java sdk applications calling reports from BO using Opendoc , URL reporting and RAS.
In the busy time we have around 300 active sessions created by the java sdk's.
To handle the load, i have added one extra Crystal Reports 2013 Processing server and Crystal reports 2013 cache server to each node.
Recently, the client has consulted a SAP architect and the architect recommended to use only one CR processing server and CR cache server on each node.
Can someone tell me how many CR Processing servers and Cache servers can exist on one Node?
I have a 8 core processor with 32 GB RAM on both servers.

I have created standard WEBI recipient document at top of Excel document wiht refresh on open and uploaded it to BI platform.
After upload I can open that WEBI report, he will refresh and everyhing works fine.
But when I tryto use that WEBI report as source for Dynamic Recipients in Publication I get error massage:
You do not have the right to access data returned by this universe.
and in logs from my WebintelligenceProcesinServer i have found:

I see that patches sp5 and sp6 and sp7 don't contains correction from older sp. then what is the best way to upgrade to sp7 :
- install each patches (5 6 and 7 )
or
- download the complete server pack with sp7 , and deploy on my system (over the existing sp4

We needs to create the reports on "real time".
In fact, in our landscape we have : ECC6, BO4.1 SP3 and BW 7.31. We can't wait D+1. Do you know a "perfect" tool for make this ?
My first choice is going to BO : Universe + Webi but I am not sure if it's simple (or not) ?
I search a simple "How To" create a universe based on ECC.
Could someone help me please ?

It would appear that crjava-runtime_12.2.219 is the latest version. But that also appears to be for CR 2013. We have purchased licenses for Crystal Reports Developer 2016. Will the runtim 12.1.219 work with the CR 2016 RPT files?

I have created a BI publication that is scheduled to burst data from a crystal report to individual users using the mhtml format as output.
However, when I specify the "Report HTML content" in the body of the message with mHTML format selected, when the publication runs, the data in the email comes out to be in an incorrect format as seen in the first screenshot below:

We have set up a crystal server and try to export a report of more than 100,000 rows. When we run standalone, it is okay. But when we execute through the server, we have an error. Following is the error. Any idea what this is?

We are running BI Platform version 4.1 SP7. In combination with Analysis for Office Add-On, we utilize Excel report those workbooks contain SAP BW Objects such as Bex Query.
Till now when a SAP BW Object (Bex Query) is modified and transported to the next level of the system landscape (DEV->QAS->PROD), we must in parallel manually promote (for example from DEV to QAS...) the BO Workbooks that point to this SAP BW Object.
Our key-users would like to have the possibility to automate (-or combine) the BW transport and the BO Promotion job.
In the BO Platform guide, in chapter 15.8, it describes the integration of BI System and BW landscape to the CTS(+). The usage of BO system and CTS+ is not clear for us. Refering to the guide : "BI platform infoobjects can use SAP Business Warehouse content as a data source. The integration of CTS+ with the promotion management tool enables the handling of the BI platform repository, in a similar way to the SAP Business Warehouse (BW) repository, by using CTS transport requests to promote jobs. CTS+ provides an option to transport non-SAP objects within a system landscape. For example, objects created in the development system can be attached to a transport request and forwarded to other systems within the landscape"
Does it mean that once BO and BW are integrated to CTS(+), one can automate and synchronize a change in both systems by means of CTS transport ?
For example when a change has been initiate in BW and therefore transported to the next system of the route, CTS+ acknowledge the transport and trigger in parallel a transport of the corresponding object in the BO landscape ?

Hello. I have an old version of BOXI Enterprise installed (Version 11.0). There are some Crystal Reports published. However, for some of those reports I get different results when I run that from BOXI Enterprise comparing when I run that from Crystal Reports Desktop Client. I downloaded the report from CMS to my local disk and after configuring the connection I tried to run that from my desktop client, very different results.
So, I tried to connect directly from Crystal Reports Client to CMS, what I got was "Access denied. You cannot log on to an older version of the CMS." So, looks like my Crystal Client (14) is newer comparing to BOXI Enterprise. So, I tried the same from CR 2008 (same error). Then I tried it from CRXI R2 SP6 - Product Version:11.5.12.1838, and I still getting the same error.
So, I really would like to connect to CMS from Crystal Client. Any clue? Tkx.
