We are seeking to architect traditional Data Warehouse solution on DB2 with Informatica as ETL and BO as BI tool. Data Warehouse consists of 3NF Integration Layer (~250 tables) and Star Schema based Presentation Layer (~80 dimensions and ~15 fact tables).
In past, I have always worked on BO with Oracle orTeradata. My client wants to continue using DB2 for DW as well. I went to BO website and found out that BO does support DB2 out of the box. But it seems very rare.
Are there any drawbacks? Did you ever run into technical limitations while building BO on top of DB2?
Are there any compatibility issues with Business Object? Are there any limitations with SQL generated in BO Universe for Facts and Dimensions?
