Hi,
We are just getting started with Crystal Server 2013 and Crystal Reports. Some of our 'power-users' will need to be able to design and view reports reports published to CR Server, while other users only need to be able to run and view pre-built reports in a viewer tool or IE web browser. What I'm trying to sort out is the minimum client software that will need to be installed on each users desktop machine. Sifting through the docs it looks like everyone will Crystal Reports Enterprise and possible Crystal Reports, and a viewer as well. Is this correct? (I have been through quite a few docs and still confused on this)
Here's our basic server-side setup:
- Crystal Server 2013 5-CAL hosted on Windows 2008 enterprise server. Tomcat on same machine, Apache on separate webserver host.
- Oracle "reporting database" on separate host (so I have set up crystal server secured relational connections up point to this)
Basically I am just trying to figure out the following:
1. What is minimum software power user will need on his desktop to connect to CrystalServer to design, publish, and view reports?
2. What is minimum software a plain user will need on his desktop to connect to CrystalServer to view and run pre-built published reports in IE browser.
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
