Hi experts ,
i beginner of BI as an a COGNOS author designer and our company needs to decide to purchase COGNOS BI or SAP BI .
so the first issue what is the connection WAY ??? i Can connect Via COGNOS to any database through ODBC and Directly from cognos to the database .
but At SAP it's a different . As my short experience i think to connect from COGNOS to SAP must have BW SAP it's and individual product of SAP to gather Information of SAP and Deployed it through BW then you can connect through what ever tool COGNOS OR what ever on the BW not SAP Database .
that right or NO .
the second issue is what is the different between BI And BW
all my knowledge that BI is part of BW that is we must create BW and connect on it BY cognos BI os SAP BI .
but i purchase SAP BI i cannot connect to SAP without BW .
could you advise me if i understand Done or NO .
