Change a Crystal Report in BI Platform

Hello,

I am relatively new to managing Crystal Reports in BI Platform 4.1 SP4, and I have a question regarding updating objects/documents.

Adding a Crystal Report to a folder for access in BI Platform is relatively straight forward. Even moving it from one environment to another using Promotion Manager is not a problem. However, what if the original report designer updates the report. As was said, I know how to add a new object (Crystal Report), but how do I replace it? And upon replacing it, if I promote it using the Promotion Manager to another environment, will the history of the object in the destination environment remain or be erased?

Sorry for the remedial questions, but any help our direction to documentation would be greatly appreciated.
