Hi Experts,
I tried to perform clustering on BI 4.1 SP5 Windows Server 2012.
Steps Performed
1. Created 2 standalone environment with different cluster keys
2. Tested that the SIA is running and all servers are up. CMC login is successful for each standalone node.
3. On Node 1, I stopped the SIA and in the configuration tab updated Data Source settings.
4. Entered the cluster key used for Node 2 and started SIA on Node 1
5. SIA was running and logged into manage servers and observed that only Node 2 servers are displayed
6. In the startup configuration it did not display any remote servers.
7. Created a new SIA (SIA_NEW) with a different name and only CMS on Node 1 and used the cluster key for node 2.
8. Started SIA and the remote server displayed Node 2 CMS
9. Launched CMC and navigated to the server list
10. Node 2 all servers were up and running except the APS which was unable to start
11. The properties of the APS displayed the error " The server intelligence agent for this server is unavailable"
12. I cloned the APS and pointed it to SIA_NEW. Did the same for AJS . I renamed the cloned servers to Node1.APS, Node 1.AJS and started it The servers were up and running. The idea behind was to clone all the servers except for CMS IFRS and OFRS and point it to new SIA SIA_NEW
13. Later I realised that I should have re-created the SIA with same name on Node 1.
14. Performed the steps and it was observed that the manage servers displayed all the servers up and running on Node 1 as well as Node 2.
15. I went on to delete the SIA_NEW from CCM and the deletion was successful ( Removed from CCM and CMC >> Nodes). Also confirmed with the database that the object ID for SIA_NEW is deleted but it was later observed that the Node 1 SIA missed APS and AJS. May be renaming of the cloned server might have affected but am not so sure.
16. I tried recreating the Node 1 SIA again but the attempt was not successful . It still missed the APS and AJS
17. I query the query builder to see if there are still references of the missed APS and AJS but did not found any.
Can you advise me what could have happened? Will recreating the database help me in this situation or do we have any further steps to follow.
Please advice.
Regards,
Diego.
