Creating joins based on multiple columns

I'm using the Information Design Tool to design a data foundation.

When two tables are joined using just one column in each table, the settings on the create join dialog box (e.g., Outer Join, Cardinality, etc.) are fairly straightforward. But when the tables are joined using more than column, how do the settings on the multiple Create Join dialog boxes interact?

For example, if there's a one-to-many relationship between two tables, and two columns are required to define the join, what happens if the cardinality isn't set to be the same on the two Create Join dialog boxes?

IMO, there would be no ambiguity if the Create Join dialog box supported multiple columns.
