Access BusinessView using SDK

Hi All,

This is going to be a long question. I have been trying to implement two separate codes which will give me : one, all crystal reports in my repository with the table names they use and two, list of LOVs made from BusinessView with the report names they are used in.

As for the first requirement, we have Crystal Reports that are based directly on Oracle DB, based on BusinessViews and based on Universe queries.

For reports that are based directly on DB, I have been fairly successful in getting list of tables it uses through Java SDK. But I have no idea how to get the same list for reports that are based on BusinessView and Universe queries.

For reports that use BusinessViews, at the most I have been able to get the table aliases i.e Business Element names. But what I require is that table's actual physical name from corresponding Data Foundation. I have had no luck on figuring out how to do that. Is there absolutely no way to access BusinessViews through Java SDK?

For the reports that uses BusinessView and Universe, I tried generating the SQL query and extracting table names from it. But I think it will be nearly impossible since almost all reports have parameters and reports need parameter values to generate query.

Is there any way around this?

As for the second requirement, it is related to the first one. I dont know how to access Business View Manager objects with Java SDK.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Antony
