firstly we installed new 41. SP7 Patch1 BO system on Windows 2012R2 servers. after that we moved our previously version 4.1 SP4 Patch2 BO data to this system.
we have clustered BO sytem both of them. everything was working fine. but after one week later we added a new node to new BO system as a cluster member. after this adding, notificatios of scheduled with e-mail stopped to working.
the interesting things are here that, if we create new schedule on publication (not do reschedule with existing schedule on publication) the notifications are running.
we created a seperated publication and scheduled servers as AJS services every node (we have 3 node on our cluster system).

do i need to create any object in the universe level to do this..? how can this be achieved.
- Do i have an option when a customer gets the scheduled report, can it be automatically auto forwarded my mail id: from customer id:.

I've already setup Windows AD SSO for BO 4.1 SP7 and it works perfectly fine, users get logged in when they access BI LaunchPad link. Now, we've a Webi report's Document Link in an internal website, so when a user clicks on it, they're getting directed to OpenDocument page where they need to enter their credentials. What do I need to do to setup the SSO for this OpenDocument page as well?

We have SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 3 application up and running using the ENTERPRISE authentication.
Our requirement is to integrate the SAP BOBJ application with the Enterprise SAML2 Identity Provider (IDP) for Single Sign-on.
The Enterprise SAML2 Identity Provider (IDP) team provided us the METADATA.xml and the Certificate file.
Kindly guide us on where and how to load these files on BOBJ server to achedive the SAML SSO ?

We have 15 Fhsql deski reports all connected to the same db connection but different sql queries which will be converted to 4.1 webi.
My question is can l create single derived table and connect all the reports to it in webi
1."When fhsql is converted to webi does it create a default derived tables"? ?
2. Can l include derived table in a universe?

Hi Experts,
Hope you can shed some light on this.
We have a client that wants to upgrade their cluster from SAP BI 4.0 SP5 , consisting of two BI virtual servers to SAP BI 4.1 SP7.
They have a Prod environment consisting of only 2 BI servers (Server A and Server B) with CMS deployed on Server A.
What would be the best method to achieve this upgrade (excluding the "In Place Upgrade" directly on Prod environment) ?
( BTW, Is "in place upgrade" recommended at all under these circumstances? What are the possible CONs to doing this?)
If we exclude "in-place upgrade", basically the plan is to:
1. Replicate/clone/copy (whatever is best practice) environments to 2 virtual machines so to be able to run existing Prod environment in parallel while upgrading replicated environment.
2. Then perform the patch upgrade to the replicated/cloned/copied environment
3. Decommission the old Prod environment
Is the above a feasible and a "best practice" plan ?
We would like to avoid content migration with UMT tool and to minimise re-doing configurations like root folders, configuring user security and the like.
We would also like to be able to run these 2 environments in parallel for a while (during UAT in replicated environment)
I've red some posts on web: some suggesting "cloning" the environments some suggesting using of Promotion Management Application , etc.
So I am very confused as to what is the best option in my scenario and HOW IT IS ACTUALY DONE and in what order.
Questions:
1. What is the best approach to replicating the current Prod environment given our requirements above ? What it THE process for this ?
2. If my CMS is on Server A, how do I "replicate" that one, and how do I "replicate" non-CMS server B to new environment ?
3. Once, "replicated" how do I sever the references to the old environment ? (We want to run this in parallel with originating Prod environment)
4. Once we're happy with "replicated" environment" how to we upgrade patch them and in which order ?
Do I use just use "upgrade patch" installation file to achieve upgrade form BI 4.0 to BI 4.1 in the replicated environment?

I have an object level security set on a couple of fields in my universe (Access Level = Controlled).
In CMC , there is a group 'Controlled Objects group' set up under 'Object Level Security' which has a list of users who can access these restricted objects in the universe.
Now I want to add some new fields in my Universe and give 'Controlled' Access to only few users (Not included in the 'Controlled Objects group')
How do I achieve this? If I just added those new users to the existing 'Controlled objects group' who are authorized to view the new objects which I will add, the other users who are not authorized to see these new objects will also be able to see these new objects!
What is the way out??

Dear Dev team,
I have two issues:
- First, if I want to select the report in the Change Analysis, the checkboxes looks a little bit strange. (See screenshoot)
- Then point two. When I compare two reports together, an error is written in the tracefile, wich confused me (see trace file). It says that the preferences.xml can not open from the directory C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\BISupportTool. However, I run the tool as a complete different user, and generally there is no user administrator on my client.
And then a quick question, It is still so, that only a comparison between the same system (Time1 und Time2) is possible and not, for example, between D and P system? as described here (https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/x/6pE0Gg)

Is it possible and makes it sense to use the new garabage collector G1 in the Adaptive Processing Servers to improve the performance?

Need an suggestion regarding SSO configuration with BI 4.1 CMS is on Linux.
Can you please suggest which SSO option is better with BI 4.1 configuring Trusted Authentication or Siteminder?
Also, if we have a portal which will redirect to the BI launch pad, which TA option should be used HTTP_HEADER or REMOTE_USER?

We are decommissioning a physical Windows 2008R2 Server that is running Crystal Reports 2008 Server with Apache. I currently p2v the physical server to a new virtual machine that now sits in our VMware infrastructure. I removed the physical server from the domain and shut it down. The virtual machine is now up and running with the same old name that the physical server had.
I first had a couple of errors:
1. Server servername:6400 not found or server may be down (FWM 01003) null.
I finally fixed it by reconnecting the application back to the database.
2. All schedule report is now failing on the virtual machine with : Object failed to run due to insufficient security privileges.
I have not been able to fix it yet. I verified that the folder and reports still have the correct security. Not sure why it is failing. It works for me as the
administrator if I run it for them.
Here are my two issues and questions I need help with at the moment.
1. I want to rename the windows 2008 R2 server to our new naming convention. What steps should I take to accomplish this task besides fixing
the web-info files? Is it possible to accomplish?
2. How do I correct issue number 2 (above) - Object failed to run due to insufficient security privileges? This is happening with all the user scheduled
reports that were scheduled by the user. The user now tries to run it through infoview and it fails.
I have a table broken into departments with sub totals for each department. This level is summing correctly. I have another table to create a total for the business area that is in the same section but outside the table.
The table is rounding each value. The total is summing the pre-rounded values and then rounding. I want the total to be the sum of the rounded values.
Is there a way to force the total formula to only use the rounded values? (Like in Excel you can choose values or formula)

I'm having an issue after P2V and decommissioning the Physical Crystal Report 2008 Server. The new crystal report server vm is allowing users to connect to infoview. They are able to access their scheduled report but the minute they try to reschedule it or run the current schedule the report errors out with "Object Failed to run due to insufficient security Privileges. I verified that the NT security group is still there and that the users are enabled and active in the group. I also verified that Crystal report server has the security group/users under the user and group settings. The folders and report has the correct security. This all began after P2V the physical server and bringing the new VM online. Can someone please guide me in how to correct this issue?

I tried starting it using \tomcat\bin\ using service.bat install BOEXI40Tomcat but ended with below error.
The JAVA_HOME environment variable is not defined correctly
This environment variable is needed to run this program
NB: JAVA_HOME should point to a JDK not a JRE

Hi All,
I'm facing one issue in BI4.1 in which the users are unable to access Design button in the reports in Production Environment. Although it is accessible in QA.
I compared the access level of group in both the environments and they are same. I also compared the user security of personal folders in both environments - they are also same. Below is the screenshot of the report in QA and Prod.
Also, I'm facing one more issue in which below pop up comes while accessing the reports -

I've got a Crystal Server 2013 installation with default values installed. I'm trying to reconfigure everything so that all services only are listening on localhost so that the services are protected from the general network and only usable from the local machine.
I can sign into Central Management Console and change the Properties on every service (in the Common Settings section I change under Host Identifiers from Auto assign to Hostname and specify localhost) except for the Central Management Server to bind to localhost. With this configuration once I restart all the services everything seems to work fine.
If I try changing the Central Management Server to bind to localhost it doesn't work. I notice that if I make the change in CMC but don't restart the service and then use Central Configuration Manager to stop the Server Intelligence Agent that if I then try to start SIA it seems as if my CMS comes up, but it doesn't start the other services. If I use CCM to bring up the Manage Servers window I can see only the CMS service running. If I try from the Manage Servers window to start any other service the service doesn't start.
I also note that if from CCM I bring up properties on the SIA then on the properties dialog for SIA I can go to the Startup tab, and if I bring up properties for my local CMS server the port is set to localhost:6405 (which in some ways seems reasonable) yet if I hit OK the window complains about the localhost:6405 value and says I need to enter a port number from 1 to 65535. If I hit cancel I can leave the value set to localhost:6405.
Since leaving the CMS listening to all addresses but having everything else listen only on localhost tells me I'm close. Any tips for how to get CMS to only listen on localhost? Any tips in general?

I have 2 universe .
first universe is used for creating webi report .
second universe is for dashboard.
I need to restrict the users such that users are not able to view the second universe when trying to create webi report.
I performed following
1. placed the second universe in folder and then in user security, view objects -> cross/red . Then users were not able to view the dashboards itself. No data is showing in the dashboard and hence i need to revert back
2. created new user group and restricted the universe to view on demand. but still users are able to view it
Please guide how to restrict such that only 1 universe is shown
