The entitlement system account CRYSTAL locked

Dear Experts,

Recently, our SAP BW users couldn't logon in BOBJ via BI Launchpad with the error:

 

Account Information Not Recognized: CSecSAPR3Binding::XRFCCnxBroker::BorrowConnection() failed. See following log entries for details. Failed while trying to log on to SAP system. The following RFC error was returned: [Group, Key, Message]: [3, "RFC_LOGON_FAILURE", "Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts"]. The entitlement system has been disabled in memory. This may be because the SAP system is unavailable or because the credentials are invalid. The entitlement system has to be re-enabled before it can be used again.

 

I checked, I could use the enterprise users to logon in; I tested the connection of BOBJ and BW system by my BW system ID/password and it was Ok; later I found the entitlement system account CRYSTAL was locked. Then I entered the password of crystal in BOBJ CMC Authentication/SAP Entitlement System and in the BW system, unlocked it. In BW system, the CRYSTAL account is a system user.

 

My question are: what will cause the SAP BW users logon to BI failed usually?

why the system user also will be got locked even if someone changed CRYSTAL password in BOBJ or BW side?

Webi report on Bex Query takes very long to refresh.

Hi All,

 

I have a report in webi on bex query which takes forever to give me data which is only 1000 rows. In our Development environment its completely fine but in our UAT environment its extremely slow. i can not push it to production until i have same performance as development environment. Can someone help to point me in the right direction? Have tried to run that Bex directly against BW and its fine takes a few secs. But in webi takes almost 10 mins. Thank you.

Hi Folks,

 

We are planning to update from BI4.0 SP7 Patch 2 to BI4.1 SP4. This release PAM guide mentions about CR2013 only.

Just wanted to make sure, when we do in-house UPDATE like recommended below, does the existing CR2011 reports automatically updated to CR2013?

If so, anyone faced any issues after UPDATE?

Does the existing CR2011 license can be applied to CR2013 Developers client machines?

 

Doing a full install for updating from BI4.0 to BI4.1? Think again...

Folks,

 

Issue surfaces after clustering,above mentioned error appears in properties of each server irrespective of servers  running(pretend) and not running.

 

Here,we tried to cluster 4 nodes,first 2 nodes are good no issues,but 3 and 4 nodes have issue.

 

 

I also noticed below message under properties

 

" The server is not managed by Server Intelligence Agent. Current command line arguments could not be retrieved. Server restart would be required if the command line arguments are modified. BO- LDAP authentication fails when LDAP server in cluster hangs.

Hi Experts,

 

We are having BO XI 3.1 SP 7 enviornment an using manual LDAP authentication enabled. Recently we have observed that when our LDAP server hangs the entire BO authentication doesnt work(DEV/QA?PROD). We have LDAP servers in clusted and are load balanced, i.e We have a load balancer first and then LDAP servers in cluster(3).

 

While configuring the LDAP authentication we have given the Load balancer as the LDAP host in Business Objects.

 

Other tools are not facing this issue and its specific to BO tool.

BIP Support Tool - CMS - Longest Query Response Time Since Startup

Hello,

 

I like the BI Platform Support Tool very much, but one thing which is really strange to me is the evaluation of the Central Management Server metric "Longest Query Response Time Since Startup (msec)".

It's always showing an alert for that because it's around 150000 to even 350000 on our systems (depending on the day),

although all other CMS metrics are evaluated "green" and we don't have any issues with our CMS so far.

 

I've also asked the developers of the tool (Toby Johnston and Timothy Coffman) about that some time ago,

but I just got the info that the CMS has to be tuned, which shouldn't be the case.

Otherwise I should create an incident.


On other blogs or even in theirpre-recorded webinarI can see warnings/alerts for this metric, too


So how is your experience with this value?

Did somebody got this down to the recommended less than 10000 ms on a bigger productive system?

Or is it really just a thing which can be ignored at all??

Multiple APS in Multiple Machine

Hi,

This is regards to the  SAP Business Objects BOE Installation for 4.1 version (Custom install).

I m trying to set-up a distributed environment for  setting Multiple APS. I would like to understand if its possible and good to do.

My plan is to create 5 APS servers in 2 different machines exclusively for the purpose to simulate a distributed environment.

The reason why i feel  to split the five Split APS servers  running in two different machines is each machine capacity is 16 GB RAM available.


What I have as of now :

Machine 1 and Machine 2 having custom installations and ascint as cluster to the Central BOE Machine 0. These Two machines 1, and 2 are indivijually running default APS for 1Gb.


What I m planning is :

Stop and disable the APS in both the machines and start creating the 7 split APS in these two machines


Machine 1 :

a. APS -1 : DSL Services (3Gb),

b. APS-2  : Search Services (2GB)

c.  APS-3 : OLAP : 3GB

d.  APS-3LCM : 1GB

 

 

Machine 2 :

a. Publishing services : 2GB

b. Webi services : 4GB

c. Other services : 2GB

 

 

Is it wise to split like this or  Or i must run All the APS servers  in one machine and then  Machine two i should have  a replica of Machine 1.

 

This is purely from a demo perspective. Requirements been Webi Running Optimally good an drest services will have average number of use case. Size wise, I m looking for a Small Installation type only

Let me know more info is needed so that i can provide the same.

Old Data from Auditing DB not Deleted

Hi Team ,

 

We have recently set the parameter  Delete Events Older than (days)  to 366 days from 36500 in our BO 4.0 ( Ver= SP7 Patch 2  DB= SQL 2008 ) Landscape  in all system ( DEV ,TST, PRD ). In  DEV & Test we have successfully saved space, as we observed the Available free space  increased to  48 % from 0 % in the data files for the Audit db . But in the BO Production environment , this is not the case. We are  observing growth in temp db growth , but no increase in  Available free space.  Please advice on this.

'Enter Values' window no longer appears

Hi, I'm relatively new to programming Crystal and supporting a product that recently upgraded from Crystal XI to Crystal 2011.  We've found that when we refresh the data on a report programmatically then export/save it prior to display in crw32.exe, we're no longer seeing the 'Enter Values' window that was automatically appearing for reports that had Parameters.  When we open an .rpt file directly with crw32.exe, the 'Enter Values' window shows up if we manually refresh, but our problem is that we're trying to programmatically refresh the data on the report prior to opening with crw32.exe and when we save/export the file, we're getting a 'missing parameter values' exception.  Is there a way to programmatically display the 'Enter Values' screen in Crystal 2011 using the API and let Crystal take care of the parameters or do we have to create our own UI to prompt the user for the parameter values, set the parameters using SetParameterValue, then save/export?

I'm using the Crystal Reports 12.1 Java SDK. I receive this exception when a report initially loads and each time I page through the report:

I'm wondering if it is because I am handling the report parameter screen myself rather than having the viewer prompt the user to enter parameters. The user fills out a custom parameter screen and the parameters are sent back to the server and injected into the viewer using the setParameterFields() method. The report runs fine, I'm just concerned about these exceptions that are being thrown.  I don't see the exceptions when running a report that does not require parameters.

 

If anybody has seen this before please let me know. Thanks.

"File Repository Server error" when trying to commit a new CrystalEnterprise.Program instance to the InfoStore

I've run into an issue where saving a new CrystalEnterprise.Program instance is throwing an ambiguous exception with no other information than a generic HRESULT code and the even less useful error message "File Repository Server error". I've debugged the code using the COMException managed debugging assistant and Reflector to get to the callsite of the COM object, but there is nothing there to indicate what the actual File Repository error is attributed to. Logging for the InputFileRepository service in the CMS was been set to HIGH, but nothing shows there as a result of my code executing.

 

The call to myInfoStore.Commit(...) is where the COMException is thrown.

Tomcat cache delete automation

Hi

 

  Is there any way to automate the Cache delete under tomcat folder (i.e deleting all the contents under Tomcat>work>localhost )?

 

I am looking the following steps in the automated script

 

1. Shutdown Tomcat

2. Delete Cache under Tomcat localhost folder

3. Restart Tomcat

Preserve CUID while importing Business Views

Hi,

 

I am trying to import the Business Views from one environment to another.

 

Steps followed :

 

1) Exported the BV as XML from source env

 

2) Imported the BV in destination env , preserving the CUID. Got an error here saying the CUID exists, so checked on 'Overwrite CUID'.

 

My question here is , what exactly happens when Overwrite CUID is checked, still the cuid will remain the same as in source env right?

IF THEN ELSE in BEx (what's wrong with my formula?)

Hello Experts,

 

I can't seem to find what's wrong with my IF / THEN / ELSE formula below. I've tried a number of iterations and researched on-line.  I'm working with a 7X query.

 

(GOAL >= 10000) * GOAL + (GOAL < 10000) *10000

 

Said another way:

If Salesman Goal is greater than or equal to $10000 then print the larger number (the original goal)

If Salesman Goal is less than $10000, then print $10000.

 

Can anyone tell me what I"m doing wrong?

Have to make a standard DSO using VBREVE and VBREVR tables for revenue recognition

Hi All,

 

We are planning to implement Revenue recognition in our company. We follow a LSA architecture. We will be making 3 write optimized DSO for the 3 revenue recognition tables VBREVK, VBREVR and VBREVE.

 

Our requirement is to make 2 reports - one for the header and another for item. Therefore, we need a standard DSO based on VBREVE and VBREVR.

 

As the primary keys for both the tables are not same, is it possible to make a standard DSO based on the two write optimized DSO.

We have na installation of SAP BOE 4.1 on Linux operating system on which you need to configure OpenLDAP authentication. But we need to configure 3 diferente LDAP authentication for diferente types of users on the same server. There are setting this up? What is the best procedure for this setting?

I have installed manually SAP Crystal Reports Server 2013, OEM Edition . and it works successfull I have some question about.

 

1) how can I install SAP Crystal Reports Server 2013, OEM Edition silently ?

 

2)how can I access  by code ccm.exe configuration under Parameters tab   --> oprion Type --> Report Directory  yo "*", i have attached screeenshot to clearfiy.

Implement SSL on Tomcat (https)

Hi experts,

 

I am considering to implement SSL on Tomcat (https).

It will open to users in internal network and in external network.

Internal Network and External network has different domain name (internal IP and public IP)

However when I use the keystore to create private key, it allows me to input one domain name only.

./keytool.exe -genkey -alias tomcat -keyalg RSA

 

If I use public IP as the common name (CN) of the key, internal users cannot access the server.

If I use internal IP, external users cannot access the server.

How can I implement the https so that both internal and external users can access the server successfully?

 

We do not allow "add exception" due to security policy.
