I'd like to get information which reports are refreshing, who refresh etc.
I have this kind of information but only for reports which are in BI Launch Pad, but we use RichClient (ver. standalone) also and we'd like to know it also.
Is it possible to get this information?
I doesn't have it in Audit database and I doesn't see anything in CMC -> Auditing which could be responsible for it.

We have Business objects XI 3.1 SP1 FP 7 installed. When we are restarting SIA as a regular process, adaptive processing service on one of the two nodes stucks in initializing everyday. If that service is terminated manually and started again it comes back immediately, however when we try to restart hung service after a while it requires 3-5 attempts. SIA restart at any other time of the day is less troublesome, however as users come online at other time of the day, we cannot change restart time.
What can be done in this case ? Why adaptive processing services goes into initializing? Sometimes the services gets PID and some times not. However it hangs in either of the cases,

I am looking for a way to find out the Webi reports which uses a particular table in the Report. Is it possible to do it without manual process and without using the SDK ?
I know how to find out the list of webi reports which are based on a particular universe. But I need to find out the list webi reports using a particular table from different universes.

I have been working in BO Data Services for sometime now for ETL and Data Migration stuff. As the assignments involved did not follow SAP line of products entirely, hence reporting tool had not been SAP BI one. Now in SAP Reporting side, I find a lot of products that are being used - like WEBI, BW, Xcelsius, Crystal reports and many others. Could someone tell me if there is any relation between them and where can I start from.
I have heard and seen some guys from another team working on universe and creating reports out of it. I am trying to follow them but still if someone could give a headstart about how different BI products are related and where from could/should I start from, it would be helpful.

I am going to upgrading from 3.1 to 4.1 soon. I wanted to know the best practices from your experiences?
My questions were:
1- After i install the new 4.1 on new hardware. I use Upgrade Management Tool to move my access levels, users, groups, folders, reports, universes, connections. Correct? What services need to be running when i move my contents? Can i turn some services off to make the process fast? Also what best practices would you suggest when moving the contents? Move everything in one shot or do one category at a time?
2- What contents are movable and what are not, and need to be recreated in 4.1?
3- Can i point the 4.1 CMS db to the same as 3.1 CMS db? Or do we need a brand new CMS db for 4.1?
4- What other things i need to know when upgrading from 3.1 to 4x versions?
5- Lastly, if we want to upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 do we just simply apply the 4.1 SPx on the environment? Or do a full install of 4.1 on top of 4.0?

We have SAP BI 4.0 SP 9 installed on AIX box with default CMC and Audit database - SQL Anywhere 12. Now we would like to change the SQL Anywhere 12 database to Oracle. We have clustered environment with 2 nodes (one node per server). Each server is full installation with all BOBJ services running. Currently the database is installed on the one of the server.
Please let me know the steps involved, potential issues, best practices regarding this migration.

we have the following environment:
Windows 2008 R2 Server SP1, actuall patch level.
RAM: 64 GByte, enough diskspace left.
SAP BO 4.1 SP5.
The source System was a SAP BO 4.0 with SP4. It was updated
with the upgrade Patch to SAP BO 4.1 SP2. Then it was patched with Patch 4 to SP2 from BO 4.1
And finaly SP 5 was installed.
The deployment template for the Server ist he XL – deployment.
There are nearly 100 – 150 users active every working day.
And there are about 850 timely dispatched WebI reports (Jobs) over a week. On monday and on friday and on
every first of a month a bigger number of Jobs are recurring.
We have the following problem.
At any time it is possible that nearly any services are going to an undefined state.
On the property page and only there we get the message
„You must restart the server for changes take effect.“
It seams, that the paramaters are changed. The field fort he current parameters
is emty and the field for the expected parameter has the original start
parameters. But nobody has changed the parameters
And then the status for this service is more ore less undefined.
Sometimes the affected servise works fine and sometimes the affected services doesn’t work anymore.
If we restared the affected services it is possible that all services are restarting.
We had that Problem also with SAP BO 4.1 SP 2 patch 4
At the moment we are not able to find a reason for that behaviour.
Has someone hints to solve that problem.

One of our customer is using a custom reporting solution which has a hierarchical prompt on Product hierarchy.This custom reporting tool allows the user to select any of the hierarchy level values and run the report.So e.g. if we have BU-->Dept--->Sub Dept as hierarchy levels user can select either Bu,Dept or Sub Dept and run the report.This needs to be replicated in BO 4.1.Now in BO 4.1 we defined cascading LOV with hierarchical display but user has to select the lowest level Sub Dept to run the report.Do we have any tricks to keep the behavior as hierarchical but select values from any level.So effectively we want optional prompts with hierarchical display.

I received an error when I tried to run a crystal report in Crystal Server 2013 (please see the attached screenshot). I think the Crystal Server has problems talking to the Oracle database. (The report is pointing to an Oracle database.) Oracle client is installed and oracle connection is tested successfully on the server.
For Crystal Server 2013 on a 64-bit Windows Server 2008, which version of Oracle client is required? Does it need Oracle client 32 bit or 64 bit?
I'm working with a client who is upgrading from BO 3.1 to BI 4.1 SP5. They have a number of QaaWS queries. After migrating them into the new environment and updating the URL's, there are two that always return "no data to fetch". All of the other queries return data.
Using the same parameter in 3.1 does return data. Also, I created a Webi report in 4.1 that queries for the same objects from the universe and has the same filters as the QaaWS. The report does return data, but the QaaWS does not.
The two queries that have issues are using the same universe and the queries that don't have issues use different universes.
Does anyone have any thoughts about what might be going on here?

After a fresh installation of SAP Crystal Server 2011 SP4 (14.0.4.738) on SUSE 11.3 the Report Application Server (RAS) is failing to start.
This is the error it is showing in the log:

All the other servers are starting fine, it is just the RAS which is refusing to start. Has this ever happened to anyone?

Could you please let me know if there's a way to collect the names of Folder >> Sub folder and the User Groups associated to it ?
I was able to get the folder names under Public folder (parentid=23) but not the sub-folders and its User groups.

can the reports which are saved in personal or my favourites folders get audited if im using sample reports given by SAP?
And can the reports which are saved in local machine get audited(i mean if i run them and dont export them to repository).
If yes,do i need to do any additional steps to carry out this above steps while working in 3.1

when we tried; to open a report in modification, or to create a new report we have the message error.rwi 00200
we have do several tests (security java, compatibility mode,etcccc)
after several tests, when we uninstalls java 8.45 and installs the version inferior 1.7.0_79 any walk but when one gives the 8.45 nothing does not walk
NB: with version java 8.45on different posts(pc),all functions

I have setup a watch which checks a probe execution time but it doesnt seem to work.
See screenshots attached. The watch seems to state failed and not sure why?
Any ideas?
