BO) and I'm getting the error: "FWM 01003 error that the server doesn't
exist or isn't running".
I already tried restarting all services SAP BO, SIA and Tomcat.
There are no errors in the event log or in log files in directory
logging

My company is installing Business Objects 4.1 as part of an overall (new) SAP project. I am the Oracle DB for the project and new to the SAP/Business Objects world.
My question is how do most people separate the different pieces of the overall Business Objects install on the database level? I was thinking we would have one database with different schemas for Audit, CMS, BODS and Information Steward. I've heard from our integrator that some companies will have a separate database for each.
Not knowing the system that well, adding separate databases seems unnecessary. Where I would have some additional hoops to jump through if a restore was needed for just one of the schemas, it seems better then adding the additional DBs.

While attempting to schedule a report to output results to a specific directory, I receive the below message. As an Admin, I do have access rights to this directory. Existing recurring jobs successfully output to this directory with the same settings as I've used when creating this new job with a new .rpt file.
Any thoughts or ideas??

Hi we have upgraded from BO 3.1 to BO 4.0
When we try to schedule a report i get following error

My Crystal Server is 2011 installed on a 2008 R2 server.
I have restricted access to the CMC for non Administrator users. I have a group of users that have access to the CMC with access to some of the options such as;
Folders
Users and Groups
Query Results
etc
I would like to allow them access to Calendars as well but I don't know how to do this.
Any ideas?

I've got a problem with Design Studio 1.2 SP01. Everything works well, if I access everything when I sit in the office. If I'm at home and I chose "Add Datasource", I can select a Universe, but if I want to build a query "Edit Query Spezification", I get the following error:

Our server is named demo.comp and can be accesed if you are inside the company network. I can access the Server via comp-demo.com from the Internet, but if I use the Designer, I get the error described above.

we just upgraded out BI 4 platfrom to BI 4.1
we have a number of reports that had been taken from our XIr2 server to our BI platform 4.0 server
they use an odbc connection to oracle
to get them to work on the 4.0 platform we had to set the connection details (log in to CMC --> folders-->right click---> database config) to "Specify a custom table prefix"
now after upgrading to 4.1 we get an CRWEB0000019 error unless we set it back to "use default table prefix"
the table prefix for both is exactly the same except... the default one has a . (period) at the end and the custom one does not.
will jobs that were scheduled with the custom table prefix fail even after we change the database settings?
Hi All,
I'm working on a project where we want to have batches of reports being scheduled to specific server groups. Currently when these batches are run, the reports use the "first available server" option in CMC. This is problematic as the reports are just being scheduled to whatever server has the least load at the time, so on demand reports just have to wait until the long batches are over before they can be scheduled.
In CMC, there are two options for setting up server groups:
"Give preference to servers belonging to the selected group"
"Only use servers belonging to the selected group"
Our fix was to schedule these batches to server groups so that some of the servers would be available for on demand reporting. Since our goal is to have distinct server groups to help with load balance, we went with the "Only use" option. The functionality of this is pretty clear: Even if the needed servers (AJS) are disabled, stopped, or busy, the reports will still be scheduled to this server group. However, the functionality regarding the "Give preference" option is unclear.
My question is: Under what conditions would BusinessObjects switch to using a server not included in the server group if the "Give preference" option were used?
As far as documentation goes, the best answer I found was that the server would switch when the needed servers are "not available". What exactly does this mean?
When the server is disabled? (Assuming yes, this would be good for us)
When the server is stopped? (Assuming yes, this would be good for us)
When the server is busy? (No idea..., if yes, this would be bad)
If the server switches when the specified server is busy, then we just run into the same issue we had before, so we wouldn't want to do that. Does anyone have any insight into how this works so we can figure out which option to go with?

Actually I have been working with Dashboard y Office 365 proplus but I notice that the performance for my PC was down CPU busy 100%.. Does somebody working with Dashboard (Xcelsius) and Office 365?????; the other problem that I face is that I can not install Analysis Edition for MS Office...

I am unable to access Promotion Management after we upgraded to 4.1 SP3. I am getting the following error when click on Version Management:
"Sorry, Promotion management application is unable to process your request.
The error from the server is: com.businessobjects.vms.VMSException: com.businessobjects.vms.VMSException: com.businessobjects.vms.VMSException: java.io.IOException: CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified"
I can access Promotion Management without issues. Appreciate any comments?

I am trying to track down an error with BI4.1 version management (note 2008275)
and the correction says
"Ensure that only 1 APS server is defined with a "Lifecycle management service" and running across the entire cluster."
This led me this question, how can you determine which APS is running a particular service without having to hunt and peck through every APS?
I ran the 4.1 wizard and I have 20 APS.
Just curious if there is a better way for future reference.

In our environment, there are 2 domain (domain A and B); it works well all the time. Today, all the user belong to domain A are not logi n; for user in domain B, all of them can log in but BO server response is very slowly. and there is error message popup when opening Webi report for domain B user. Below are the error message:
" Active Directory Authentication failed to get the Active Directory groups for the account with ID:XXXX; pls make sure this account is valid and belongs to an accessible domain"
Anyone has encountered similar issue?

I am stuck at the moment and need some help advise. I am trying to install the software above on a windows 8 machine for the company I work for. Initially I installed it but when I tried to do the wdeploy predeployall I got an error with acess denied to sAPJVM, it didn't actually exist in the win64_X64 folder. After reading abit, I decided to uninstall and re-install. Howver the re-install failed with the following error
java virtual machine launcher
could not find main class: com/businessobjects/sdk/biar/utility/xsdutility. program will exit
Now I can't uninstall or install so stuck in abit of a limbo. I also notice that the SAPJVM is not there either.
Can anyone offer advise on how I get over this.

On one of our environments WIPS (webi processing services) suddendly stopped working. We did no change.

I can create a new WIPS on any other server on the cluster but any new WIPS i create on this node meets the same fate. It crashes right after I start it.

I am just starting a project to upgrade from XI 3.1 (SP6) to BI 4.1 (SP3 probably).
Switching to UNX universes is something we would like to do. We can create them easily enough in the Information Design Tool (IDT). I say easy but there are a few hundred but it's manageable. The concern I have is how to convert thousands of Webi reports (we mainly only use Webi) to use the newly created UNX universes.

From Analysis Office-> Open workbook->after Login to AO using BW connection
After opened the report ->when refresh the report, getting the error
